Phyllis Whitehead, 97, of Latham, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023. She was a woman of great strength and character. Keenly intelligent and witty, she charmed most who met her. Phyllis was deeply loved by her family and friends. She will always be an inspiration to us all for the courage with which she lived life.
Phyllis was a graduate of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps training program at Russell Sage College. She worked for a number of years at Albany Medical Center, as well as serving for many years as a Private Duty Nurse.
Phyllis was pre-deceased by her parents Philip and Gladys Cross, beloved husband Donald Grant Whitehead and cherished grandson Jason Grant Lacy . She is survived by her daughters Donna (Dale) Salin and Lorilee (Edward) Mallgraf and her granddaughter Shannon (William) Mesick , and great grand son Jack Lacy Payne.
A private family memorial will be held.
