Piera L. Marks

EAST GREENBUSH-Piera Angela Lento Marks of East Greenbush, died September 9, 2014 at the Inn at St. Peter's. Loving and beloved wife and mother, dearest sister and sister-in-law, she is survived by her husband, Philip E. Marks, her son, Jonathan A. Marks, her sister, Rosetta Bruni, her brothers, Ralph (Mary Ellen), Frank, and Tony (Janet) Lento, sisters-in-law Betsy Voss and Judith Marks and brother-in-law Stephen Marks and her nieces, nephews and cousins. Piera was predeceased by her father and mother, Salvatore and Maria Lento. She is remembered with much love for her easy going sense of humor, and above all for innate ability to meet people, and within a few words, make them feel comfortable and at ease with her warm and open personality. Piera had a passion for gardening and cooking and baking. More than anything, she loved her family and her life revolved around them and doing unexpected kindnesses for others. Most of Piera's career was spent in accounting and finance, first at RPI and then at The Albany Academies. According to her wishes there will be no funeral service. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, the world will little note nor long remember her passing, but those who knew Piera will never forget what she did here.
