Princess Lodge Hodges, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Princess was the daughter of the late Herbert and Princess Lodge. She was originally from Burnside Valley, Red Hills, St. Andrew Jamaica, West Indies. She came to the United States over 50 years ago a which time she became a United States American Citizen.
She is survived by her brother Kenneth Lodge (Albany). She is pre-deceased by her siblings; Ivy Delapenha, Edith Carby, Linda Lodge, Mildred Davis, Donald Lodge, Frederick Lodge, and George Lodge.
Princess is survived by her children: Eugene Stanley Moore (Cheryl), Eithel Donny Corington, Laura Burt (Becky), Patrick Hodges and Paul B. Lodge. Grandchildren Montoya Burt, Lance Burt and Darion Burt. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews.
She worked for New York State Office of General Services, retiring after for 30 years with them. Princess was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a major member for the Caribbean Cricket Club. She enjoyed gardening, DIY, cooking, music, and spending time with her family.
Calling hours will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 235 Lark Street, Albany, New York on Friday August 18, 2023 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 11:00 am at the Church. Public Parking on Lark St. Entombment will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie, New York. Especially thankful for all the care from her daughter Laura Burt and granddaughter Montoya (Toya) Burt and Hospice Nurse Rose Marie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church (focus churches).
