Priscilla Ruth Scrafford (née Millbank)passed away peacefully June 12, 2024 surrounded by children and grandchildren. She was born January 6, 1926 in Albany, although family lore is that it may have been in Feura Bush, requiring incubation in a bread warmer, because she was early and tiny. Despite that, she lived to 98 5/12 years of age.

She was predeceased by her mother, Ruthann Pelton Fitzpatrick, her father, John Patrick Fitzpatrick, siblings Charles, John, and Marian, and by her husband of 52 years, Robert Charles Scrafford. She is survived by her children, Linda Ruth Scrafford Wolff (Michael) of Schodack, Barbara Torrey Scrafford of Three Rivers, California, Marion Gail Frowein (Thomas) of Colonie, and Robert Samuel Scrafford (Claudette) of Oneonta. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, Leah Wolff-Pellingra (David), Aaron Wolff (Jana), Eve Wolftrand (Michael), Casey Pabian (Keith), Brett Murray (Ashlie Spence), Stephen Frowein (Patty), Thomas Charles Frowein (Amy Paradis),, Kathryn Scrafford (Adrien Niyongabo), Megan Gentry (Gerad), Stephen Scrafford (Evelyn Bodalilla), Hannah Scrafford (Miles Goodall), James Scrafford (Danielle Jenkins), Mackenzie Curran (Nicole), and Krystle Curran. She is survived by 20 great grandchildren.

Ruth retired from Albany Memorial Hospital, where she worked in the billing office for many years. She was a committed volunteer as a Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout Leader, PTA President at Roessleville Elementary School, and in later years for Albany Memorial Hospital, the American Red Cross, and Literacy Volunteers. She was a wonderful singer, serving as a soprano soloist at First Church at age 19, singing standards and carols with her husband and children around the living room piano, and as an enthusiastic member of the Latham Circle Sweet Adelines.

She was loving and caring to family, friends, and strangers alike.

The family would like to thank Dr. Donald Jue, Linda Rabbin, NP, and the staff of Eddy Village Green House 7, especially Melanie, Melissa, Shelly, and Lisa, for their diligent and loving care of our matriarch. We are saddened by her passing. She lived a full, long, and graceful life.

A visitation will be held on Saturday June 22nd from 9am to 11am with a service to take place at 11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie NY

Interment immediately following in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
