Purnmatie Shiwpal

Latham- Purnmatie Shiwpal, 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Guyana, daughter to the late Rambajhan Jaimangal and Sumintra Tulsi. Purnmatie was the devoted wife to the late Janak Shiwpal. They were married 50 years. 

Purnmatie enjoyed spending time with her entire family and loved cooking for them. She was an avid fisher and cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Purnmatie was a proud worker who took a lot of pride in her job. She will be remembered for her kindness and sweetness, always checking up on everyone even if just for a couple minutes. 

Purnmatie is survived by her children, Radica Shiwpal, Narinedat (Olga) Shiwpal, Hemraj (Roselle) Shiwpal, Rayshama (Jesse) Cleveland, Rona (Stanley) Purzycki, Kumar (Nadina) Shiwpal; grandchildren, Xzacia, Xzavier, Xzarya, Amir, Omar, Kumar, Daina, Lily, Raina, Stanley, Krishna and Emilia; great grandchild, Zyana; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

She will be dearly missed by all those who loved her and that she loved in return. 

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189 on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 22, 2025 starting at 9am with burial to follow the service at Park View Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
