In Loving Memory of R. Joseph "Joey" Langford

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of R. Joseph Langford, lovingly known as Joey, on February 2, 2024, at the young age of 41. Joey's untimely departure has left a void that can never be filled, as he leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.

Joey was born to Debra K. Langford of Voorheesville, NY, and Richard E. Langford of Halfmoon, NY, and was the loving father to his two precious daughters, Lauren and Sarah Langford, who were the center of his universe. His unwavering love and dedication as a father were evident in every moment he spent with them, and their bond was a testament to the depth of his love.

Joey was a beloved son, sibling, grandson, and uncle. He shared a special connection with his sisters, Cortney (Todd) Romansky of Voorheesville, NY, Darcey (Valdis) Rigdon of Ithaca, NY, and Erinn (Jason) Bariteau of Atlanta, GA.

He cherished the love and guidance of his grandmother, Doreen Moak, and was a beloved nephew to George Klopfer, Wendy (Roger) Berger, Edward Klopfer, and Derek Moak. Joey was predeceased by his beloved grandfather H. Allyn Moak, his grandparents Gordon and Phyllis Langford, and his aunt Esther Klopfer

Joey adored his nieces and nephews, Carter, Megan, and Nicholas Romansky, Dean, Tobijas, and Penelope Rigdon, and Jason, Olivia, and Patrick Bariteau. Joey was also blessed with a close circle of cousins, including Bradley (Crystal) Berger, Katelyn (Jim) Foster, Blair (Bill) Murray, and Gregory Klopfer. In addition to his immediate family, Joey leaves behind a vast network of cousins, extended family members, and friends, all of whom were touched by his warm and generous spirit.

Joey graduated from The Albany Academy, where he excelled in soccer, ice hockey, and tennis. He went on to become a dedicated first responder, working as a flight medic for Mobile Life Support Services, a paramedic for the Town of Colonie, Albany County, and REMO, and volunteer firefighter for Westmere.

Joey was an avid outdoorsman who found solace in fishing, hunting, boating, and spending cherished moments at Camp with friends and family. He wore his love for the Buffalo Bills and the New York Yankees proudly, but above all, he was most proud of his daughters, Lauren and Sarah. Their accomplishments and happiness were his greatest source of pride and joy.

Joey will forever be remembered for his infectious laughter, his love for life, and his deep devotion to his family. Joey's spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, and his memory will inspire us to cherish our loved ones and live life to the fullest. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
