Rachel Lisa Beals, 40, of Colonie, passed away suddenly on February 11, 2022 at home.
She was born in Albany on May 10, 1981 to David and Constance Beals. Rachel lived her whole life in Albany. She attended Colonie Central High School and the University at Albany.
Rachel was an exceptionally creative person, and we are blessed with her amazing art which she poured her creativity, generosity, and love into. Her generosity was simply part of her being and she loved giving creative gifts made especially for the recipient with careful thought. Giving of her time and creativity brought her great joy. A family member or friend delighted by one of her creations would make Rachel smile with her whole body. Her whole being. So many of us are blessed over the years with her amazing works of art which we continue to cherish.
Rachel was an avid reader and had an intrepid and creative mind. She could talk about any topic at hand and do so with smarts and humor. Rachel so loved reading to her nephews. She was a dedicated and loving aunt who never missed her turn to read a bedtime story and could always be counted on to join in her nephews' games and they will sorely miss her.
Rachel was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and lover who could always be counted on and always brought great joy to the lives and gatherings of her family and friends.
.
In addition to her loving parents, Rachel leaves behind the love of her life, Christopher Johnson and his daughter Liza, her beloved sister and brother-in-law Allison Storellicastro and Nicolas, her adored nephews Maximo and Sonny who she always played, read, and laughed with, in addition to many loving Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and dear friends. Rachel loved all animals and cared for many in her lifetime including her fur babies Loki and Blanka.
Her soulmate Chris, to quote Rachel, "he gets me", was by her side when she passed for which we are eternally grateful.
In lieu of flowers, the Family suggests donations be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
