ROTTERDAM – Rachel Emery, 86, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2008 at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Rachel was born in Vermont on October 2, 1921. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Rotterdam United Methodist Church, the Rotterdam Senior Citizens and the Red Hat Ladies Society.
Rachel is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Wes) Shave of Campbell Hall; her grandchildren, Debora (Mike) Flannery, Douglas Shave, and Lisa and Patrick Emery; her great-grandchildren, Asa, Logan and Teagan Flannery; her sister, Arvis Murray and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl H. Emery; her son, Terry H. Emery and several sisters and brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at Viewland Cemetery in Rotterdam. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211 in memory of Rachel Emery.
