Rae M. Stec

TROY - Rae Stec, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2017 surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was born in Troy on April 21, 1931, the daughter of the late Rosario and Dominic Comitale.

She was predeceased by her husband George Stec, her son, Brian Melnyk, and four siblings: Lou Comitale, Millie VanKuren, Mary Cook and Joseph Comitale.

Rae retired from Seton Daycare in Watervliet, where she worked for over 30 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Joseph) Rivage and three grandchildren: Joseph (Carriebeth) Rivage Jr., Christina (Rivage) Taylor and Shari Rivage; four great grandchildren: David Taylor, Dylan Rivage, Madeline Taylor and Isabella Taylor; and a brother, John Comitale. She was affectionately called Aunt Dolly by her many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Wednesday December 27 at 1 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY. The calling hours will precede the services from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
