VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Michael R. Pietrosanto (Mickey), 50, entered into eternal rest on May 17, 2007. He was born in Schenectady, graduated from Guilderland High School and received his associates degree from SUNY Cobleskill. Through his youth and teenage years he was dedicated to the family's garden center. Mickey eventually owned and operated a gift and flower store where he provided custom-designed arrangements to many in the Capital Region. In addition to his love for horticulture, Mickey practiced martial arts throughout his adolescence. The need for a better climate led him to Virginia Beach where he resided for the last five years. He enjoyed the warmer weather and many friendly people he met along the way. He was a communicant of Holy Spirit Parish. Mickey is survived by his parents, Santina and Anthony Pietrosanto of Albany; his sisters and their spouses, Yvonne and Brad Konopaske of East Greenbush and Tina Marie and Patrick Clancy of Albany; his nephews, Jason, Justin, Kevin and Aidan; and his niece, Ava. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mickey also leaves behind his beloved life-long friend, Dr. John Hargraves; special friend John Halligan; dear friends, Ann, Peter and Clay Smith and several other special friends from Albany and Virginia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday morning at 10:00 at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave., Guilderland. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-soouth of Central Ave). The parish family of Christ the King will gather at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
