Voorheesville- Ralph P. Salerno, 94, a longtime resident of Voorheesville passed away peacefully at his home on October 18 2022. Ralph was born in Manhattan, NY to the late John and Mary Salerno.
Ralph proudly served the residents of New York as a New York State Trooper from April 16, 1954 retiring 12/31/1983, with the rank of Sergeant. Upon retirement, Ralph served as the Sergeant at Arms for the New York State Senate as well as head of security for Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Ralph had a passion for harness horse racing and was the proud owner several successful trotters and pacers. He was an avid sports fan especially for his New York teams, the Giants, Yankees and Rangers.
Ralph is survived by, his Sister, Lita Curcio. Son Richard Rutherford (Beth). Grandchildren Christina and Conrad. A host of, several nieces and nephews.
Ralph is predeceased in death by his Wife Shirley Salerno. Daughter Rhonda Rutherford.
The family would like to thank Ralph's' caretakers Christina, Tracey and Madison for their wonderful and loving care provided to Ralph during the years of his life.
