ROTTERDAM- Randall Carl Barkman, 69, of Rotterdam, passed away on Friday August 28, 2009 at the Inn of Community Hospice in Albany. He was born in Broome, NY and was the son of the late Dorothy Barkman and step son of the late Clarence Bryan.
Randy served in the Army in the early sixties and later served in the US Peace Corps. Randy was retired from driving tractor trailer. He was previously a logger and carpenter in the Lake George region. Randy was an avid hunter, fisherman, and Yankees fan.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia and son Derek of Rotterdam, his son Kirk (Kimberly)Barkman and their children Blake and Alexis of Maine; his brothers Richard Barkman, David & Butch Bryan; his sisters, Sandra Baitsholts, Sharon Wood and Susan Augustine. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Barkman and sister Nina Furman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial services on Thursday evening at Sonrise Bible Church, 1082 Dunnsville Rd , Rotterdam. Visiting hours are 6-7pm with the service to follow. In honor of Randy's passion for the Yankees, please dress casually wearing your favorite Yankees apparel. At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to the Derek Barkman Education Fund, care of any Trustco Bank.
