Colonie - Randall "Randy" Schryver, 67, of Colonie, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Born in Albany, on October 31, 1955, he was the son of the late William and Theresa (Rao) Schryver, Jr. Randy graduated from Philip Schuyler High School and furthered his education and obtained an Associate's Degree. Randy became a nurse, working for Albany Medical Center, for over 25 years. He worked in various capacities, most recently as a phlebotomist for the AMC Internal Medicine Group.
Randy loved his feline family, including Rajie and Selkie (littermates) and SweetPea and Starman.
Randy was a jack of all trades, was very handy, could fix almost anything, and created beautiful stained glass. Randy loved collecting clocks. He loved to get bargains at resale shops, and would restore old, broken clocks to their original grandeur.
Randy had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Anyone who knew him was familiar with his generous spirit. If your air conditioner broke, he'd show up with a unit and install it for you - that was Randy. Randy was kind, caring, and also forgiving. You could often find Randy helping others, planting flowers, and feeding the birds.
Survivors include his twin sister, Maryann Cannistraci (Salvatore) of Guilderland, brother William Schryver III of Westerlo, dear friend Bill Lawrence of Waterford, aunts, Patricia Blair and Ann DiSanto, many nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Randy was predeceased by his sister Barbara Ferraino (Robert), dear sister-in-law Katherine Schryver, both of whom he adored, and dear uncle, Joe Rao, who was a significant part of his life.
