Edward R. McLean, 75, of Cohoes, NY, passed away peacefully this Sunday morning, October 16, 2022 at Samaritan hospital in Troy. Born December 31, 1946 in Albany, New York, he was the son of John McLean and Marcia Allen.
Randy, as he is better known as, lived his entire life in the Capital Region. He worked in the Albany Central School district for nearly 30 years, as a staff member at Albany High School. An avid golfer, he had many memorable moments on the golf course with his dear friends. A painter, a bartender and softball umpire on the side, Randy was rarely idle. He was a life long member of the Albany Elks Lodge #49 and American Legion Joseph E. Zaloga Post #1520.
He is survived by his devoted wife Heidi of Cohoes, NY, stepsons, Mike, Tommy and Stosh Nadoraski, brothers Jack and Allen and his wife Kathleen McLean, and sister Cathy and her husband Carl Redcross. He also has 6 grandsons, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces.
Randy was predeceased by his beloved parents, Jack and Marcia, and his brother Michael.
Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205. A Memorial Service will take place at the funeral home on Monday morning at 10:00 AM. Interment will then be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd. Colonie. NY.
A celebration will follow immediately afterwards at the Albany Elks Lodge 25 S. Allen St. Albany, NY.
