Raquel V. Romano Woods was born on Dec. 27, 1971 to Rodolfo and Araceli Romano. The eldest of the Romano siblings, she spent her early educational years in St. Paul's College in Manila, Philippines. She would continue her studies at Philippine Christian University. Upon the siblings' immigration into the US, and after pursuing courses in Nursing, she eventually landed multiple opportunities in health care, specifically working in medical and Doctor's offices.
Unfortunately, in her early adult life, Ate Raquel would be diagnosed with a chronic autoimmune disease that would cause intermittent pain physically. In spite of this, she would eventually give birth to her first son, Marcus and would follow him with her second, Adonis. She was dedicated to her family and adored them unquestionably. Her life was spent managing her condition, medically, and living as best she can while also ensuring her loved ones received the care that only she can provide. Throughout life's adversities, she was able to cope with her illness and was able to raise her two children into the young men that they are today.
Ate Raquel went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, 16th of July 2023. She was forever giving and she gave until the end.
She is survived by her husband, Andre Woods, her two sons, Marcus and Adonis, her granddaughter, Maera, her brother Ronald, his wife Kenia, her younger brother Ryan and his wife Alpha, and her nieces, Keura, Azaryah and Kaleigh.
Ate Raquel is loved and will be forever missed by her family and loved ones. She will be remembered mostly for her "spunk," beauty, and charisma. While her passing will undoubtedly leave an indelible mark in each of their hearts, her family is extremely thankful to our Lord for blessing them with their big sister (and wife, and mother). They are grateful for the time they were given to spend with her and the memories they were able to build with her. They are appreciative of everything that she has done to affect each of their lives.
We will shed our tears and mourn as we need to for the loss of our dear Ate Raquel. We can, however, take solace in knowing that she is no longer in pain and no longer suffering as our Faithful Father grants her peace and comfort while she joins her Mom and Dad in heaven.
