Raymond A. Paradise, Jr., 78, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2014.
Ray was born in Albany, New York on June 13, 1936 to the late Raymond A. and Mary (Bachmann) Paradise.
Ray proudly served with the United States Army for over 30 years; he was the President for the Local Chapter 421 of Woodman of the World and social member of the Colonie Fire Company.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his sisters, Angelina Albert, Alice Oathout, Mary Walters and Susan Watso. He is also predeceased by his grandson, Anthony James Paradise.
Ray is survived by his cherished sister, Nancy A. Sinisgalli; his wife, Carol A. Paradise; his beloved children Raymond E. (Karen) Paradise, Christopher (Amy) Paradise, Joseph (Terri) Paradise and Cynthia A. (Robert) Krasney. He is the adored grandfather of Jason, Jessica and Zachary Paradise; Candace and Rebecca Vergare; Liam and Parker Krasney and Evelyn Paradise. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and countless dear friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675 in Ray's honor.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Albany Medical Center for the care and compassion given to Ray.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 11:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
