Raymond Bucci, Sr.

COLONIE- Raymond G. Bucci Sr., 77, died Wednesday December 20, 2006 at Barnwell Nursing Home in Valatie.
He was born and raised in Albany and was the son of the late Dr. James W. and Josephine Covatta Bucci. Ray was a graduate of CBA and attended St. Lawrence University. He was active with the Boys Scouts, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a US Army Korean War veteran. Ray was a member of the VFW, DAV, Joseph A. Zaloga American Legion Post and the New England and NE NY Chapter of the Chosen Few. He worked for the New York Telephone Company beginning as in 1954 as an installation and repairman and eventually in security until his retirement in 1987. He was a charter member of the Colonie Elks.
Ray will be deeply missed by his wife. Elizabeth (Bonnie) Bucci; his children, Dr. James G. Bucci ( Dr. CatherineE. Hylwa) of Columbia CT , Jerry Bucci of East Greenbush and Jeannie E. Bucci of Albany; his grandchildren, Brian Bucci and Colleen (Donald) Snyder. He is the loving brother of Elaine O'Keefe (late Larry) of Latham. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Ray's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff at Barnwell Nursing Home for their excellent care and compassion to Ray and his family during his illness.
Calling hours will be Saturday, December 23, 2006 from 2 to 4 pm at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Services in celebration of Ray's life will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at 11:30 am at the funeral home.
