COLONIE- Raymond E. Carpentier, 75, of Colonie, passed away on Saturday February 14, 2009 at Albany Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born and raised in Albany and was the son of the late Louis and Bertha Carpentier. Ray served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. He participated in combat operations against enemy forces and was a Purple Heart recipient. Ray worked as a meat cutter and manger for the Grand Union, Central Market and the former Kretchmeyer Meats for many years.
He was a life member of the West Albany Rod & Gun Club. Ray enjoyed taking care of his home and spending time with his loving family.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Trombley Carpentier; his children, Michele Lee (Thomas), Terence Carpentier and Lawrence Carpentier; his stepsons, Jeffrey Trombley (Serena) and Kenneth Trombley; his grandsons, Terence Jr. and Christopher Carpentier. He is the brother of Richard Carpentier (Jeanne), Rev. Sr. Jacqueline Marie Frances, OLBUU and the late Rodney Carpentier. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:15 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home. 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. Clare's Church at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Ray's cousin, Rev. Randall Patterson. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden.
