Mack, Raymond E.
Raymond E. Mack, 78, passed away peacefully Friday January 21, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn.
He was born in Albany the son of the late Catherine and Raymond Mack, Sr. and was a lifelong area resident. Ray was a 1950 graduate of Roessleville High School and worked for Armour Foods for 28 years, Selected Meat Packers for ten years and then retired from Polacsek Farms. Ray was a lifetime communicant of St. Francis de Sales who enjoyed bowling and was an avid Met fan, a legacy that he passed onto his sons. He was involved in scouting as a Cubmaster, was past president of South Colonie AARP, member of Roessleville Alumni Association, member of Knights of Columbus and lifetime member of South Colonie PTA. Ray was predeceased by his wife, Helen less than six months ago.
He is survived by his sons: Greg Mack of Colonie and Kevin (Melissa) Mack of Saratoga Springs, grandchildren: Isabella and Abigail and, sister Irene Riley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Vince, Cindy, Karen, Helen, Nancy and Amy, a grandniece, grandnephews and his feline companion "Fluffy"
The funeral service will be Monday 8:15am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to Christ Our Light Catholic Church (formerly St. Francis de Sales) Maria Dr., Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00am. Calling hours will be Sunday 2:00 to 5:00pm at the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Mausoleum.
