Vanosky, Raymond
Albany – Raymond Vanosky, 78, passed away Wednesday October 20, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn.
Raymond was born October 16, 1932 a son of the late Helen and Bernard Vanosky. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School, class of 1951 and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, being a part of the US Armed Forces Championship Football Team in Europe in 1953. Raymond worked as financial planner most of his life, retiring from Travelers Insurance Company Financial Planning Services Division in 1976 and becoming an Independent Financial Planning Agent. In 1970, Ray was named Agent of the Year for Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Company and he was a longtime member of the Financial Planners Association.
Ray is survived by his sisters: Bernice Noviczski, Ann Reynolds and Theresa Lewis, several nieces and nephews and long time friend Elizabeth M. Crawmer. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 9:30am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Rotterdam. Calling hours will be Sunday 2:00 to 5:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie.
