ALBANY – Raymond Joseph DeVarnne, Jr., 52, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Raymond and Myrtle DeVarnne.
Raymond proudly served in the United States Navy. He loved watching NASCAR, fishing, going to Lake George, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Phyllis DeVarnne; his children, Raymond III, Heather, Donna, Aimee, Michael, and Thomas; grandchildren Shania, Christopher, Tevin, Meiko, Skye, Hannah, and Ian; siblings John DeVarnne, Faith Lincourt, Mary Marx, Sarah Flanagan, Fran Bender, and Joseph DeVarnne. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends also survive.
Raymond was predeceased by his brother, Carl DeVarnne.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
