Clifton Park- Raymond K. DeRusso, 77, passed away at home on Thursday, June 21, 2007. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Louis and Anna DeRusso. Raymond served in the NY Army National Guard for over 38 years retiring in 1990. He had worked for New York Telephone Company for 35 years retiring in 1989. Raymond was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and also a past member of the Clifton Park Elks. He is predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
Raymond is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Elizabeth DeRusso of Clifton Park, his four cherished children; Diane (Matthew) Baird of Waterford, Dawn O'Leary of Colonie, David (Sharon) DeRusso of Delanson, and Dean DeRusso of Rochester. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, his three sisters; Eleanor McCredie, Martha (Anthony) George and Catherine (Edward) Olsiewski and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. George's Episcopal Church, 912 Route 146, Clifton Park. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Schenectady County, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Raymond K. DeRusso.
