Colonie – Raymond F. Krolak, 71, passed away Thursday February 24, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Ray was born in Albany the son of the late Frank and Carolyn Krolak and was a lifelong area resident. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1960 to 1964 and then served the community of Colonie through law enforcement. Ray was a Colonie Police Officer for many years and after retiring as a Lieutenant in the detective division, he went to work at the Federal Government, again in law enforcement. He enjoyed boating and fishing and Saratoga Lake and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years Jean (Serafin) Krolak, their daughters Kim and Laura, grandchildren Jake and Sage, sister Carol Mulcahy and his special father-in-law Bill Serafin. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his infant grandson Shane.
The funeral services will be Monday 10:00am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to Our Lady of Assumption Church, Latham where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am. Calling hours will be Sunday 3:00 to 6:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
