Watervliet- La Belle, Raymond David, lovingly known to family and friends as “David or Davey and Uncle Dave”, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home on Monday, November 4, 2024. David was born in Troy, New York on April 7, 1953. He was the first-born son of the late Raymond C. La Belle and Ruth C. (Jalet) La Belle.
At the young age of sixteen, David answered the call of duty and enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he had a 20-year career serving his country with great pride. David had tours of duty in New York, North Carolina, Arizona, Florida, Germany and Korea. He started his career as a security specialist and retired as an electrical technician. He retired with the rank of E6 Tech Sergeant.
David is survived by his brothers; Jerry La Belle, Troy; Paul (Robin) La Belle, Watervliet; Mark (Jean) La Belle, Troy; and sisters, Susan (Craig) Stanton, Defreestville; MaryAnn (Howard Sr.) “Chuck”, Delmar; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his sisters, Lu Ann Wrobel, Troy, and Terrie Heminway; and brother-in-law Treb Heminway, Troy.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Thursday November 14, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to N A M I, National Alliance on Mental Health in the name of Raymond David La Belle.
