Colonie- Raymond W. Phillips, Jr., "Butch", 80, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2022 due to complications from a stroke.
Born July 4, 1941 son of the late Raymond W. Phillips, Sr., and Myrtle (Brown) Phillips in Albany, NY.
Ray worked for Agway for many years. After his retirement he went on to work for DePaula Chevrolet for 17 years. Ray also loved golf and he always tried to play every week with his brothers and sons. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His most cherished times were those he spent with his family. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Sandra C. Phillips; children, Raymond W. Phillips III (Desiree), Mark E. Phillips (Kimberly), Michele T. Cioffi (Tony); grandchildren, Holli, Raymond, Krystie, Ciana, Angelina, Cassandra, Vincent, Sarah; great grandchildren, Barrett, Maximus, Sean, Alex and Adrian; brothers, Theodore J. Phillips, Richard M. Phillips, Michael D. Phillips and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ray was predeceased by his brothers, Russell E. Phillips, George L. Phillips and sister-in-law, Janice Phillips.
Ray's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire DePaula auto group for their compassion and generosity throughout the years.
Calling hours will be on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
