Schenectady – Raymond L. Piglivento, Jr. passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, September 1, 2024, after a courageous battle with liver cancer. He was surrounded by his family during his final moments.
Ray was 65 years old at the time of his passing and was born on August 10, 1959. He was the son of the late Raymond Piglivento Sr. and Arlene Piglivento, and the brother of Vincent Piglivento. Ray was a devoted husband to Jeanne M. Piglivento, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. He is survived by his children, Nicholas A. Piglivento, Jason L. Piglivento, and Courtney L. Piglivento, along with his granddaughter Aurora L. Pigliavento and the extended Piglivento family.
Ray was known for his strong will and stubbornness, but also for his enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and courageous, with a wealth of knowledge gained from his diverse experiences as an auto body painter, truck driver for Grandview and Blackburn, and his remarkable skills in fixing or building just about anything.
His passions included gardening and riding his motorcycle. Ray will be remembered for the love he shared with his friends and family—his affection was always evident to those who knew him. In his final moments, he faced his departure with dignity and love for those who had gone before him.
In true Ray fashion, there will be no formal services or grand gestures. Instead, a celebration of his life will be held, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 2957 Curry Road Ext, Schenectady, New York 12303, beginning at 1:00 P.M.
"May your last ride be to a place of peace and freedom, just like the roads you loved.”
