HALFMOON – Raymond R. "Butch" Brooks, Sr., 82, of Halfmoon, died on Monday, July 27, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 27, 1927 in Troy and was the son of the late Harold A. and Ethel (Merritt) Brooks.
Raymond was a truck driver for P.S. Dubrey and Blue Line Express for many years and a member of Local 294 of the teamsters. He retired in 1988.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife and honey, Joan (Patnode) Brooks; his sons, Raymond (Nancy) Brooks Jr. of Troy and Harold (Chrissy) Brooks of Clifton Park; his daughters, Sandy (Bruce) LaBounty of Cohoes, Patricia (Raymond) Novak of Latham, Janice (Mike) Iannacone of Watervliet and Gail (David) Fogarty of Watervliet. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Richard "Bubba" Brooks and his brother, Kenneth K. Brooks.
A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 172 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, New York 12866 in memory of Raymond.
