Raymond Riccardi, 60, passed away Friday, February 13, 2009 at Albany Medical Center Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Ray was a lifelong resident of Albany. He worked for the Times Union Newspaper for almost forty years as a plant engineer. Ray was a devoted firefighter and long time member of the Fuller Road Fire Department. He honorably served his country with two tours of duty in Vietnam in the Marine Corps. Ray was a lifetime fan of The New York Football Giants, but his greatest passion was his family and especially his granddaughter Skylar, his angel.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Janice of 37 wonderful years, their daughters; Kathi (Matt) Riccardi-Kallner and JoAnn (Frankie) Laboy, his granddaughter Skylar and his grandsons Brandon and Michael. He was the brother of Keith (Darlene) Riccardi, Joseph (Freda) Montesano, Elaine (Wayne) Dragon, Rosemary (Thomas) Giaquinto, Kathi (Jeffrey) Montesano-Ostrander, George (Nancy) Montesano, David Montesano, Mary Anne (Jimmy) Montesano and JoJean (Hal) Allen; and also survived by many nieces and nephews, Traci, Chiara, Jeff, Scott, Michelle, Wayne, Di-Di, Tommy, Angela, Gina, Kate, Jake, Lukie, Lynnie, Jenna, Bud, Matt, Jesse, Bubba, Cassie, Zoee', Rosie, Fidge, Timmy. And best friends Robert (Debbie) Bridgham and Timothy (Barbara) Goodwin.

Funeral services will be held 9:00am Wednesday from New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.) then to St. Francis de Sales Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Saratoga National Cemetery.
