ROTTERDAM- Rebecca "Becky" Hover, 93, of Rotterdam, passed away on Monday April 27, 2009 at Dutch Manor Nursing Home. She was born and raised in Albany and was the daughter of the late James and Rebecca Rector.
Becky graduated from Albany High School and took courses at Albany Bible Institute. She worked for the former Central Dairy and as a receptionist at Albany Medical Center. Becky was a longtime member and volunteer at First Presbyterian Church in Schenectady. She bowled for many years with the Krazy-Mixed Up bowling league and was and avid gardener. She enjoyed reading, needlework, crafts and spending time with her family and friends. Becky was predeceased by her husband Lyle in 1960.
She is the beloved mother of David (Bertha) Hover, Lyle (Susan) Hover and Margaret Shafer. She is the sister of the late James Rector. Becky is the cherished grandmother of Jonathan (Kelly) Hover, Megan Girard, Brittany Paterson, Tamara (Chris) Briggs, Jeremy Hover, Nathan (Lisa) Hover, Adam, and Michael Hover. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family offers many thanks to all of the loving and caring staff at Dutch Manor who gave such wonderful care to our mother.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11:00 at Newcomer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. To leave a special message for the family online, visit NewcomerAlbany.com
