ALBANY – Rebecca Jane (Furman) Shepard entered into eternal life at St Peter's Hospital on Thursday, April 2, 2015.

Rebecca was born on April 3, 1934 and educated in Horseheads, NY. She was very proud to have designed the Horseheads High School flag. Rebecca continued her education at the King's College and finished by attaining her Radiation Technology Certification.

In 1957, Rebecca married George W. Shepard of Malone, NY, where they made their home. She worked as an X-Ray Technician at Alice Hyde Hospital in Malone. Following the birth of her children, she was devoted mother and homemaker. Rebecca enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and art. She was a dedicated wife during the prolonged illness of her husband until his death on March 3, 1983. After his death, she relocated to Chazy, NY, where she was a Home Health Aide for Clinton County Public Health until retirement. Rebecca took great pride in helping others. In 2007, she moved to Colonie to reside with her daughter's family. Later she resided at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home.

Rebecca is survived by her children George Shepard (Doreen) of Monsey, NY, Shari Sauter (Byron) of Colonie, and Liza Shepard (Charles) of SC; her loved grandchildren Duncan, Kristen, Adam and Sophie; sisters Margie Elam of Washington and Roberta Whipple of FL; in-laws Dominick Maiorano (Patricia) and Madelyn Debyah (the late Roger), and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Louise, and two brothers, Basil and Stanley.

There will be no calling hours. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice in Rebecca's name.
