Schenectady – Dr. Regino Flores-Lopez, 86, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Regino was born on May 26, 1929 in Caguas, Puerto Rico to the late Regino Flores and Cristina Lopez.
During the Korean War, Regino served in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman. He was a medical graduate of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He retired as a General Practitioner Physician after 53 years of dedication to his patients. Regino was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of the American Academy of Physicians. He was a member of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Albany, NY, after having been a member of Los Tres Santos Reyes Parish in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico for 54 years; where he received the honor of Oblate for his dedication and faith. Regino enjoyed classical music and photography.
Regino is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, May Caballero-Flores; his children: May Regina (Jose Luis) Reyes of Yuma, Arizona, Dr. Regino J. (Melinda) Flores of Altoona, Pennsylvania, Sara May Flores of Gurabo, Puerto Rico, Betty (Noel) Soler of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, Mercedes (Jon) Buhner of Colonie, New York, with whom he lived, and Jorge (Nayda) Flores of Winter Springs, Florida; his grandchildren: Nina May (Chris) Edwards, Jose Luis (Tiffany) Reyes Jr., David Eladio Zayas, May Cristina Zayas, Rafael R. Portela, Laura L. Portela, Sofia I. Soler, Jonathan F. R. Buhner and Mercedes E. M. Buhner, Ana Carolina Flores, Sebastian Regino Flores, Julia May Flores, Cristina Louise Flores, Regino Miguel Flores, Katarina Marie Flores; great grandchildren: Kosten W. Edwards, Maxwell O. Edwards, Kaden L. Reyes and Rowyn E. Reyes; his siblings: Carmen Flores, Miguel Flores and his sister-in-law, Sara Disdier.
Regino is predeceased by his siblings: Rafaela Flores, Florentina Flores, Crispina Flores and Bartolo Flores.
