Rena E. Steele

GUILDERLAND- Rena E. Steele, 91, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Monday February 11, 2008 at Guilderland Center Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born April 10, 1916 in West Springfield, MA and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Angela Raffinetti. Rena met her beloved husband Blair while they working at T. F. Cushing in Springfield, MA. They were married May 1, 1953. Rena devoted her life to caring for her family providing them a wonderful childhood and many happy memories. She later returned to work at the NYS Dept. of Social Services, retiring in 1980. Rena was a kind, caring soul who always put her family and friends first.
She is survived by her loving husband, Blair M. Steele; her son David (Lynne) Steele, her daughter Serena (Jeff) Trombley; her beautiful grandchildren Stephen (Jillian) Steele, Andrew Steele, Cassandra Steele and her dear sister Marjorie Colli. She was predeceased by a sister, Josephine Raffinetti.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10:00 at New Comer Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
