Rena P. Wielt

Rena P. Wielt, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan 29, 2013 at her home, with her family by her side. She was born in Burlington, VT to the late Elphage and Marion Sancomb. She graduated from Southern Vermont College and held various positions throughout her career, including at the Edison Club and at Glencliff School for 24 years. She was an active member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Schenectady for over 50 years. Rena was predeceased by her husband Warren Wielt in 2003.

She is survived by her beloved children, Dennis Wielt and Barbara Pierce. She is the cherished grandmother of Jason Pierce, Jody Dayter and Bonnie Wielt and the adored great grandmother of Shannon Pierce, Damien Dayter, Abigail Dayter and John Pierce.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Schenectady County 1411 Union Street, Schenectady NY 12309, or the American Cancer society Memorial Processing Center 6725 Lynons St. East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007 in Rena's memory.

Funeral service for Rena will be Monday, Feb 04, 2013 at 10:00 am at the 1St United Methodist Church, State Street Schenectady. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will follow the service in the Memory Gardens, Colonie.
