Retha Lee Dechiaro

August 13, 1932 — January 23, 2021

Loudonville- Retha Lee DeChiaro, 88, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 23, 2021 after a long courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Retha was the daughter of the late Raymond and Vallie Heath. Retha was the devoted wife to the late Frank J. DeChiaro. They were married 37 years.

Retha enjoyed spending time with her entire family and loved cooking for them. She loved to go on shopping trips and to the casinos with her family. She was an avid lottery player and enjoyed her daily scratch off tickets. She had a fond love of the ocean, especially Cape Cod. One of her favorite activities was going to concerts to listen to the music. The thing that brought the most joy to her life was the time she got to spend with her two great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Ella.

Retha is survived by her daughter, Cheri A. (Dennis) Horgan with whom she lived; son, Frank J. (Georgia) DeChiaro, Jr.; 4 grandchildren, Kelly (Tom) Brown, Frank (Katie) DeRevere, Hillary (Jonathan) Brochu and Rachel Horgan; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda (Jerry) Parker; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Retha is predeceased by her siblings, JC Heath, Ray Heath, Gene Heath and Tom Heath.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York on Thursday January 28, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Mass will be held Saturday January 30, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Marks Church, 356 Boston Rd, Sutton, MA 01590. Burial will immediately follow the Mass at Howard Cemetery, 15 Armsby Road, Sutton, MA. Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
