SARATOGA SPRINGS Rev. Raymond E. Lex, 69, of Saratoga Springs, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2009 at home after a brief illness. He was born in Sugarloaf, PA and was the son of the late Raymond and Ellen Lex, of Berwick, PA. Rev. Lex retired from fulltime ministry from the Menden United Methodist Church in Menden, VT and had previously served as pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Rotterdam Junction. He also served as Minister of Music at various churches over the years. Prior to fulltime ministry he was an employee of Trustco Bank for more than 20 years. Raymond is survived by two children, Renée Lex and Randall Lex, daughter-in-law, Jill (Viggiano) Lex, and three grandchildren, Taylor, Brody and Addison. He is also survived by brothers, Donald, David, Paul and James Lex; sisters, Doris Stout, Jane Ashenfelder, Phyllis Diettrick, Alice Lease, Ruth Thrash and Martha Sieverts; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
