ALBANY – Reverend Stephanie P. Johnson-Kennedy, 61, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010 with her loving husband Deacon Norman Thomas Kennedy by her side.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 11, 1949. Reverend Stephanie spent the last 20 years in Albany, license in two states for cosmetology and provided home health care services to many individuals.
Mama Stephanie spent her life helping others believe in living… upon meeting her she commanded respect through her spiritual strength.
Secretly, Mama Stephanie enjoyed listening and dancing to Salsa music. Reverend Stephanie was very passionate about her faith and family and would like her friends to enjoy life through song, love, and praise. "She's going home" with everlasting strength.
She is survived by her dedicated husband of 21 years, Deacon Norman Thomas Kennedy; her daughter, Tammie (Lynesha Johnson) Thomas; stepmother, Catherine Johnson; two sisters, Valerie and Carolyn; her brothers, Kelvin and Wesley, and family all whom reside in Virginia. She is also survived by three cousins, Francis and family of Texas, and Lottie and Mamie of Virginia; her spiritual advisor and mentor, Rev. Dr. Minnie L. Burns of the Universal Baptist Church in Saratoga Springs and her best friend of over 40 years, Yolanda of New Jersey.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday. Interment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
