Richard A. Bowers, Jr.

Richard A. Bowers, Jr., 45, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2014 after a long courageous battle with cancer, at his home surrounded by his loving family and close friends.

Richard was born on December 27, 1968, and is the son of Richard and June Bowers.

Richard graduated from South Colonie High School with the class of 1987. He worked for the Golub Corporation and was a loyal and faithful employee for over 18 years.

He loved sports, was an avid NY Yankee and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed classic cars and being with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents Richard is survived by loving brother Matthew Bowers; his cherished sister Desireè Bowers; his beloved daughter Tabitha Bowers; his adored grandson Jude Bowers and his special nephew Nicholas Abbatiello. He is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Memorial Processing Center 6725 Lyons St. East Syracuse, NY 13057-0007, in Richards's memory.

Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm Monday, September 22, 2014 at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in St. Adalbert's cemetery, Schenectady.
