COLONIE – Richard A. Rogers, Jr., 59, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born on January 4, 1954 in Schenectady and is the son of Richard A. Rogers, Sr. and the late Jennie (Struffolino) Rogers. He was a self-employed wholesale car dealer in the Capital District for many years. He was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan, and played fast pitch softball for Sportsman Softball League. He enjoyed fine dining, traveling, family vacations, Saratoga Race Track; was an animal lover and enjoyed his pets.
In addition to his father, Richard is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Teri S. (Cameron) Rogers; proud father of Christian A. Rogers (Jennifer), Derrick J. Rogers (Maryann DeMarco), and David C. Rogers; elated grandfather of Cody J. and Easton R. Rogers. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Bellai (John); his stepmother, Mary Farrington and his nieces, Jennie and Lea.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and staff of the CCU at Albany Medical Center Hospital for their excellent, constant, loving, and compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady.
