Richard Jw Allen

Albany- Richard James Woodley Allen, 80, of Albany, NY; and Covington, GA, passed away peacefully, on Monday October 23rd, 2023. Born in Ithaca Village, West Bank Berbice, Guyana, South America, he was son of the late James Edward Allen and the late Polly Ann Eloise (Welcome) Allen.

He received his secondary education from Berbice High School and was a talented athlete-long distance runner. He migrated to the United States in the summer of 1982. He was a soft-spoken and devoted man of God. He took his Christian mission seriously, sharing the word of God and encouraging everyone he met. He was a devoted husband to Thomasine Nelverta (Schultz) Allen for 39 years.

He is predeceased by his son Rawle Allen and his brother James Allen.

He is survived by his Wife Thomasine Allen. Daughter Antonette Schultz-Fitts. Grandchildren Trevon Schultz, JT Fitts, and Jayla Fitts. Siblings Hannahlean (Allen) Walters, Parmilla Allen, June (Allen) Coleman, and George Allen. A host of nieces, nephews, and many caring in-laws as well as his loving brothers and sisters in Christ. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
