Richard F. Baker, Sr.

Richard F. Baker Sr., 83, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 with his loving family by his side.
Richard was born in Johnstown and was the son of the late Frederick and Helen Baker.
He joined the United States Air Force in 1956 and served honorably through 1963. He married the love of his life, Frances Snider in April 1961.
He loved being a truck driver for 42 years and enjoyed being a school bus driver in his retirement.
Richard was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Frances and two sons, Jonathon and James Baker.
Richard is survived by his children Sandra (Daniel) Sperry and Richard F. Baker Jr., his grandson Benjamin (Sarah) Sperry; a great grandson Calvin Sperry; his sisters Margaret Miller (Johnstown), Shirley Vanavery-McDonald (Johnstown) and his brother, Donald (Betsy) Baker; many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on October 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
