Richard K. Barbour

CLIFTON PARK - Richard K. Barbour, 65, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at St. Peter's Hospital.

Richard was born on June 11, 1956 in Schenectady, son of Mary (LeRoy) Barbour and the late Warren G. Barbour. He graduated from Colonie High School and worked as a fork lift mechanic for Empire Fork Lift for past 30 years. Prior to that he and his father, Warren, owned and operated Warren's Automatic Transmission Specialist. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren. He loved spending time in Maine and restoring cars. He was a 38 member of the B.P.O.E. Elks #2466 (Clifton Park), where Rick was a Past Exalted Ruler.

In addition to his mother, Rick is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Donna A. (Dillon) Barbour; his daughter, Jennifer "Chipmunk" Schmidt (Chad Mayette); his adored grandchildren, Braiden and Brenna Schmidt and Scarlett Mayette; his siblings, Donna Stickley (Richard) and Barton Barbour and two nieces and a nephew. He was also predeceased by his brother, Bradley Barbour.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 16, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A service will begin at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 in memory of Richard K. Barbour.
