Albany- Richard C. Kearsing, 79, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his daughters on February 1, 2016. The son of the late Randall and Nellie (Kinal) Kearsing, Richard was born on February 1, 1937 in Albany, NY.
Richard was a honorary Life Member and past Post Commander of the Joseph E. Zaloga Post 1520 and honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 267. Richard retired from Niagara Mohawk after 38 years of service.
Richard is survived by daughters: Jane, Carol and Beverly Kearsing; his grandchildren: Lindsay Valente (Paul), Destineé Kearsing, Steven and Aidan Sager; great-grand daughter Lillian Valente; his brothers: Edward, Elmo, Kenneth Kearsing; sister Dorothy Kretzschmar and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years Marion; his brothers: Randall, William, and Paul Kearsing.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, February 5 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, February 6 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Richard's name to The Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
