Richard J. Cole

Delmar-Richard J. Cole, 72 died December 8, 2021 at Delmar Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Richard was the son of the late Richard J. and Lucille (Carson) Cole.

He was a graduate of Guilderland Central School and worked for the State of New York in both the DMV and DOT for 34 years. Rich was an avid car enthusiast, football and baseball fan, and loyal friend. Later in life he became enamored with doing jigsaw puzzles, many of which grace the walls throughout Delmar Center.

Rich acquired many adopted family members through his long stay at the former Good Samaritan Nursing Home which later became Delmar Center.

The warmhearted care of the staff on D and later B wings will never be forgotten. Rich overcame enormous physical obstacles and remained independent in many areas because of the incredible supportive staff he had in the Physical Therapy Department. You could feel the love of those who streamed through his room in the past few days and we thank you all.

Richard was a long-time and loving friend to Art and Kathy Blanchard, Diane Soper and Peter Gregory.
