SUMMIT – Richard Coleman, 83, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany.
Richard was born on July 8, 1925 in NYC and was the son of the late Richard and Pearl (Dewey) Coleman. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a retired jeweler from M & N Silver in NYC. He enjoyed camping, traveling in his mobile home and collecting model railroad trains.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Henrietta E. (Parker) Coleman; his children, Sandra Lucas of Largo, MD, Beverly Tinsley of Largo, MD, Arthur Coleman of Albany, Gail (Armstead) Worthington of Deland, FL, Jeffrey (Janet) Coleman of Summit and Eric (Diane) Coleman of Albany; two sisters, Lorraine Smith and Amelia Harris both of NYC; 24 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandson. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sons, Richard and Ronald Coleman and four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Monday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. A calling hour will precede the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home.
