SCHENECTADY - Richard "Dick" A. D'Ambrosio, 66, a lifelong resident of Schenectady, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at The Avenue Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
Dick was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late Fred and Antoinette (Attanasio) D'Ambrosio. He served in the US Army and worked for Kingsway Arms for five years. He enjoyed playing cards and taking trips to the casino.
Dick is survived by his beloved friend of seven years, Ann Stewart; his loving daughter and son, Kari L. Holliday of Glenville and Shannon M. D'Ambrosio of Rotterdam; four grandchildren, Haley and Ava Holliday and Megan and Austin D'Ambrosio; two nieces and a nephew, Lisa D'Ambrosio- McKie, Lori D'Ambrosio, and Stephen D'Ambrosio and several great nieces. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert D'Ambrosio.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Inurnment will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 14,2012 at St. Anthony's cemetery in Glenville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, National Kidney Foundation or to The Joshua Hermsen Heart Fund.
