Richard F. Sherry

LATHAM - Richard "Dick" F. Sherry, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 23, 2018 at his home.

Dick was born on October 22, 1940 in Manchester, NH and raised in North Albany, NY. He was the son of the late William A. and Albea E. (Veillette) Sherry. He graduated from Cardinal McCloskey HS in 1959, where he played sports. He served his country proudly in the US Air Force from 1960 to 1963. He was an electrician for Local 236 IBEW for many years before retiring. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and their dogs, and spending time with his family whom he dearly loved. He was an avid sports fan, where he enjoyed watching the NY Jets and NY Mets. He was a longtime active member of the North Albany Limericks at the NA Post 1610.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sharon A. (Peters) Sherry; his girls, Kerry and Kelly; his brother, Gerald M. Sherry; his sister, Peggy A. Sherry; his sisters-in-law, Lydamae Peters, Marionlynn Giroux and Karen Sherry as well as several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dick is predeceased by his brother, Donald W. Sherry.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
