Richard E. Saddlemire

COLONIE – Richard E. Saddlemire, 82, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late William and Martha (Schultz) Saddlemire.

Dick worked for Schenectady Material Handling Products as mechanic and service manager. He was also employed for a time with All-Tech Steel. Dick had a great love for and was very knowledgeable about classic cars. He also was skilled in carpentry, having worked on numerous projects for family and friends. Dick loved to spend time at his summer place on Sacandaga, where he would read the paper and look out at the lake.

Dick will be missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Mavis; cherished children Donna and Bob; daughter-in-law Sue; sister Carolyn; brother-in-law Bill; beloved canine companion, Zoey, and a host of family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lisha's Kill Reformed Church, 2131 Central Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12304.
