September 22, 1957 — October 18, 2015
Guilderland- Richard F. Valek died in his sleep on Sunday, October 18th, 2015. Born to Joseph Valek and Mary Valek (Malatesta), he was the 6th of 7 children.
Rich was a free spirit who brought laughter and excitement to those who knew him. In his youth Rich enjoyed playing football with his brothers and friends from Russell Road. As an adult he bowled, hunted, and boated with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Rich is predeceased by his brothers; Jerry and Joe.
He is survived by his brother Jim, sisters; Jeanne, Grace, and Mary, niece, Julie, nephew, Jim, and loving son, "Joe-Man" (Joseph Richard).
A Memorial Service will be held at 4PM Friday October 23rd, 2015, at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, with calling hours continuing until 7:00PM.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in Rich's name to ABC Basset Rescue or to the VFW.
