Schenectady- Richard G. Goble, 78, passed away in his home on Friday, July 31, 2015 with his family by his side after a long battle with cancer.

Dick was born on March 19, 1937 to the late George and Florence Goble in Ballston Spa, NY. After high school Dick enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country honorably in Germany.

Dick and his late wife, Sandra, were lifelong members of the Eastern Parkway United Methodist Church where he served on the church council and as the president of the board of trustees.

Dick is predeceased by his loving wife, Sandra, and his sister, Eleanor Williams.

He is survived by his brother, Donald (Emily) Goble, his children; Penny Drinkwater, Andrea (Walter) Summers, Christina (Patrick) Taylor, and Larry Goble, his grandchildren; Meghann, Ashley, Robert, Corey, Amber, Katelyn, Hannah, Taylor, and Kayla, his great grandchildren; Diamond, Isaiah, and Logan.

Interment will take place at Saratoga National Cemetery privately at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held at Eastern Parkway United Methodist Church, 943 Palmer Ave, Schenectady, NY 12309 , on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 1:00pm.
