COLONIE – Richard (Dick) G. Walter, 81, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born in Albany. He was a graduate of Roessleville High in 1953. Richard proudly served his country from 1953 to 1955. He then married the love of his life for 54 years, Jacqueline Marie Walter, in 1960.
Richard was founder and owner of P.C.I. Distributors, Inc., which he owned and operated with his family since 1980. Dick enjoyed camping and fishing, but mostly spending time with his family. He was known and loved by many. Dick's faith and family values were always admired by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Jacqueline Marie Walter; his seven children: Donna Wilber (Robert B. Wilber, Jr.), Richard G. Walter, Jr., Daniel Walter (Cyndi), Kenneth Walter (Susan), Wayne Walter (Michelle), Matthew Walter (Dorothy), and Bruce Walter; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers John Walter (Carroll) and Jim Walter (Patricia); sisters Dorothy Rice, Dolly Willey, Ruth McAulliffe and Mary Jane Mossman; brother-in-law Dennis Connelly and wife Lorraine, and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Barbara Walter, and brother Eugene Walter, Jr.
He will truly be missed by all.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31 at 9:00 am at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany Street, Schenectady. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
